United Way Partners to Help Individuals and Families Cover Prescription Costs
If you don’t have health insurance, or need medicine not covered by your insurance plan, you need the FamilyWize prescription drug discount card being distributed by the Greater Kalamazoo United Way (GKUW). This card could lower the cost of your medicine by an average 35%. GKUW is providing these cards free-of-charge to everyone in our community. There are no age restrictions, no income restrictions, no limit on how many times you can use it and no waiting to get a card. In fact, you can print this one out and use it today.

In 2008, consumers in Kalamazoo County alone saved $10,301.60. The average savings in 2008 was $22.25 per prescription (or 42% off the retail price of the prescription). In January 2009 consumers in Kalamazoo County saved $2,969.67 total, average $22.00 per prescription (41% of the retail price).
