Breaking News:

On Tuesday, February 9, 2010, Greater Kalamazoo United Way and Kalamazoo Community Foundation officials announced the Lifeline Initiative, a unique and targeted collaborative fundraising effort designed to provide immediate support to local nonprofit organizations addressing basic human needs in the greater Kalamazoo area.

Members of our community continue to experience the hardships of unemployment, housing loss or insecurity, and economic uncertainty. The Lifeline Intiative was created to increase philanthropic resources, make resources available as quickly as possible and respond to urgent human needs.

To date, more than $2.7 million has been pledged to the Lifeline Initiative in an effort to address the increased basic human needs (such as:Shelter, Food, Safety & Security, Clothing, Transportation, Quality child care and Access to health care).
