Greater Kalamazoo United Way and Kalamazoo Community Foundation officials announced the Lifeline Initiative, a unique and targeted collaborative fundraising effort of GKUW and the Kalamazoo Community Foundation, designed to provide immediate support to local nonprofit organizations addressing basic human needs in the greater Kalamazoo area.

Wednesday, September 9, 2009 at 12 Noon, the Greater Kalamazoo United Way (GKUW) Annual Community Campaign will kick off at the Arcadia Festival Site in downtown Kalamazoo. A crowd of more than 350 area employees, volunteers, supporters, members of organized labor and community leaders are expected to gather for the unveiling of the 2009 Annual Community Campaign goal, to learn the results of early campaigns and officially mark the start of the campaign.
